In 2024, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) took an initiative to create a central database of public health policy documents (law, act., strategy, policy framework, rules & regulation, action plan, SOP, guideline, amendment & directive and report etc.) of Bangladesh for long-term preservation, efficient retrieval and use as a reference hub. This initiative was technically supported by United States Center for Disease Control and Prevention (US CDC) and South Asia Field Epidemiology and Technology Network (SAFETYNET). During this process, the Department of Planning & Research and the Department of Management Information System (MIS) of DGHS played the pivotal role. Also, several organizations under MoH&FW and relevant Ministries provided their valuable support.
The Documents those were collected were published during period from 2000 to 2024. These policy documents are organized and listed currently under 19 categories which are the thematic areas of the International Health Regulation (IHR).
The Categories are;
• IHR Coordination, National IHR Focal Point Functions and Advocacy
• Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR)
• Linking Public Health & security Authorities
• Infection Prevention and Control
